Born in Japan and lived there 9 years, Margaret picked up her love for art from her mother, an Ikebana master and oil painter.  From 9 years of age until age 21 she lived in Hawaii where she picked up her love for bright colors and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing and Painting from University of Hawaii.  Now a long-time resident of Wheaton, she has fallen in love with changing seasons and the vivid fall colors.

Many of her watercolor and colored pencil pieces hang in private collections.  To further her skills, she has taken workshops at Ghost Ranch, The Clearing, and Dillman’s Resort from many well-known artists; and colored pencil classes at Beech Tree Studios in Geneva, Illinois.

Margaret is currently an exhibiting artist at Gallery 200 in West Chicago; vice president of Addison Art Guild, and member of DuPage Art League in Wheaton.  She teaches colored pencil, acrylic and watercolor classes at DuPage Art League and Addison Parks District.

“There is nothing I would rather do than create art and be in the moment of reflecting beauty which is all around us.”
