Opening Reception: November 3rd
4 pm to 8 pm

After having done mostly photography while my two boys were little, I was looking to get back into my creative ways. This started my 3D Journey in 2016.

First I started to work on my photographs, having them come to life by making rocks and roots “grow” out of my photos, using homemade paper mache clay.

A few years later, I entirely built pictures on canvas with paper mache clay, inspired by my photos.   Now my art has “jumped off the canvas”,  away from my photography, and has opened many more doors to lots of new art I want to explore.

My big centerpiece for this exhibit is called “Exploring New Dimensions” and will take you backwards in time on my 3D Art Journey from 2023 back to 2016.  My plaster statuettes, inspired by the Swiss artist Alberto Giacometti, will lead you through my art adventures.

Alec Renwick, my son and now a senior at UIUC, has done 3D art ever since he could shape things with his hands. I am very happy that he agreed to put four of his pieces into this show, and I can’t wait for you to see his talent.

I hope to be able to walk through this journey with you during my opening reception on Friday, November 3rd, from 4 pm to 8 pm.

Hopefully I’ll see you there 🙂
